In our previous blog, we focused on the laser surveying capabilities of the Orion ONE visual and laser RTK receiver. Today, we’ll address more frequently asked questions, including laser surveying limitations, AR stakeout WiFi usage, and the overall performance of Orion ONE beyond its new features.
The Orion ONE laser surveying performs best on smooth, solid surfaces with high reflectivity, such as concrete, asphalt, or metal. Light-colored or white surfaces tend to offer better accuracy compared to darker surfaces. However, the laser's performance can be limited on low-reflectivity surfaces like glass or liquids, which fail to reflect the laser effectively. For optimal results, ensure the target surface is stable and reflective.
Yes, you can disconnect the WiFi once the AR stakeout is complete.
The Orion ONE supports both Bluetooth and WiFi connections:
Bluetooth: Used for transmitting GNSS data and configuration commands.
WiFi: Specifically utilized for AR stakeout, transmitting camera visual data at higher speeds than Bluetooth.
When using the AR stakeout function, SingularPad will prompt you to connect to the device's WiFi for image transmission. After disabling the AR function, the WiFi connection is no longer needed and can be turned off without affecting other operations.
The Orion ONE is not only defined by its visual AR stakeout and laser surveying capabilities but also offers a range of enhanced performance features that set it apart from standard RTK receivers.
